We hear the word “stewardship” and immediately our thoughts go towards “money”. While money management is a critical component of Stewardship, we must always remember that the principle of stewardship stems from the fact that God owns everything.
The dictionary defines stewardship as “The conducting, supervising, or managing of something; especially: the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care”
Since God owns everything, we as stewards are the managers and he expects us to manage whatever he has given us wisely. Time, talents, and resources; all aspects of our life as it relates to our service to God, and yes that includes our money!
Time is God’s precious gift to us and every one of the 86400 seconds he gives us every day must be used wisely and enjoyed. We must be diligent and purposeful in investing our time into the Lord’s work and our families.
The gifts and talents that God has blessed us with, let’s use them to advance the kingdom of God!
Our money is God’s, our children are God’s, and all “our stuff” we’ve accumulated is God’s. Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; “NIV.
When God looks at us and how we‘ve used what he entrusted to us, we want to hear him say “, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matt 25:23-NIV
